Harrogate is a historic, attractive and elegant spa town surrounded by Nidderdale, an area of outstanding beauty, yet it’s only a 40 minute train journey to Leeds city centre. It is not only a conference, food, shopping & spa destination but also a floral town with exquisite gardens, beautiful parks and handsome tree lined streets along “The Stray” a protected 200 acres of open grassland.
The town offers a selection of theatres including the Conference Centre, two cinemas and a great range of independent shops, high street chains, glorious antique stores & an excellent variety of pubs, restaurants, bars and cafes to suit any occasion or budget.
Harrogate’s traditional generous Victorian houses are predominantly closer to the town centre and in the Duchy area to the north west of Harrogate. Within the town of Harrogate there are some excellent purpose built apartments and also a number of conversions from traditional Harrogate houses offering characterful living accommodation.
The area known locally as ‘All Saints’ to the south side of the town is mostly built around the 1920s, these are spacious homes with good sized gardens. Harrogate also has houses right up to modern day and also some new developments under construction.

Harrogate is surrounded by the smaller villages of Beckwithshaw, Hampsthwaite, Kettlesing, Ripley, Birstwith, Burton Leonard, Bishop Monkton, Follifoot and Pannal, to name a few. The small towns of Knaresborough to the east and Ripon to the north are within easy driving distance.
